MINI has confirmed that their highly popular supermini range will receive a facelift for 2011.
From August, the new models will receive a raft of changes including a revamped style, three new models, new diesel engines and a new special edition SOHO model.
Revamped MINI Style:
Kick starting the new changes, all MINI models will benefit from a new revamped style. Exterior changes include new front and rear bumpers, redesigned side repeater trim, new rear light design and 5 new alloy wheel designs. The MINI First / One and Cooper models will also get a higher and more muscular appearance Cooper D inspired bonnet.
Inside, all new MINI models will benefit from a redesigned centre console with new radio and function buttons, black centre console and speedo radio area (instead of the black and silver offered on current models), black steering wheel trims and an improved luggage compartment with roller design for MINI Clubman models.
All models will receive new sound proofing measures to reduce cabin noise levels, Brake Force Display and new heated windscreen washer jets, heated exterior mirrors and DAB radio (with the exception of the MINI First model) as standard.
Three New MINI Models:
Three brand new MINI models including a MINI One D Hatch, MINI One D Clubman and MINI Cooper Diesel Convertible will join the line-up from August.
Based on the Cooper D engine, the new MINI One D will receive MINIMALISM features as standard including:
- Automatic Start / Stop Function
- Brake Energy Regeneration
- Gear Shift Point Indicator
- Low Rolling Resistance Tyres
The new MINI Cooper D Convertible is the first diesel convertible offered by MINI and comes with a wealth of benefits including low CO2 emissions, excellent fuel consumption and the highest torque offered in the convertible range.
MINI Diesel Engines:
From August, all MINI diesel engines will become BMW 1.6cc engines offering more power, more torque, better fuel consumption and improved CO2 figures.
The new MINI One D and MINI Cooper D Hatch models also boast improved CO2 emissions of 99 g/km, putting them in the £0 tax band and making them exempt from the congestion charge.
To further enhance the diesel engines, a new automatic gearbox will also be available for all MINI diesel engines from March 2011.
MINI SOHO Clubman Special Edition:
Replacing the highly successful Graphite, Camden and Mayfair special edition models, the new MINI SOHO Clubman Special Edition will be available from 2nd August. The new model offers additional features to the standard Clubman model including a new White Silver paintwork and 17’’ Black Star Bullet alloy wheels.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
