Mazda are going to release their new diesel engine into the CX-7 line up.
The Mazda CX-7 has been a firm favourite in recent years and is set to receive an update to its powerunit line up and also a few cosmetic enhancements.
At the Frankfurt International Motor Show this coming September the Mazda stand will be displaying this new model of the CX-7.
It has sharpened up its image with some alterations to the body bringing it into line with the new ’family face’ as seen on the Mazda3 and Mazda6. In the past the CX-7 was powered by the less than eco-friendly 2.3-litre petrol engine and was limited when it came to offering a more efficient, environmentally friendly option.
Now the Mazda CX-7 will feature a new 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 170bhp at just 3,500 rpm and will give a maximum torque reading of 296 lb ft at 2,000 rpm.
The diesel offers drivers more efficiency with figures of 37.7 mpg and emitting just 199g/km of CO2.
In Japan’s already smoggy environment this will be the first Japanese car to feature a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which cuts nitrogen oxide emissions by 40%.
It will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show and is expected to be on sale as soon as October.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
