Porsche seem to be going for a new slimmer version of the new Cayenne.
With petrol prices becoming more and more expensive and the threat of climate change looming even the big guns are downsizing.
Spy pictures released on he web recently show a new Cayenne in a slightly different light. Coming out of the workshop the new Cayenne looks smaller and lighter than the previous models.
The Cayenne already stands out like a sore thumb against the small sports cars Porsche are used to; with this move it seems they hope to bring it back into line with the rest of their fleet. The new Cayenne will be a much more driver focused model ditching the bulky off road gear and opting for a more suited road vehicle.
Based on the same next-generation platform as the VW Touareg and Audi Q7, the new Cayenne will be 40 mm shorter and 20 mm lower. The Cayenne will also get styling features from around the fleet such as daytime LED lights and interior décor lifted from the Panamera.
People are talking about the possibility of the Cayenne being made available in hybrid using technology from Audi's 3.0-litre V6 mated to a 38kW battery in the spare tyre well.
The more standard modes of propulsion will possibly come from a 4.8-litre V8 seen in the Panamera and the twin-turbo 4.8-litre V8 from the Panamera Turbo.
For a diesel alternative Porsche will most likely lift the Volkswagen V6 TDI engine, which produces 236bhp and 550Nm of torque.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
