Nissan Reveal 2012 GT-R

Nissan has revealed the first images and details of the 2012 Nissan GT-R which is due to hit UK showrooms early next year.

The all-new Nissan GT-R boasts a number of key changes for 2012 including more power, an improved chassis and suspension system and lower CO2 emissions.

An all-new track version is also planned for the UK market to help satisfy customers who want a more track biased GT-R driving experience.

Body Changes:

Whilst little changes have been made to the style of Nissan’s flagship model, subtle improvements have been made the vehicle body of the 2012 GT-R model. The areas around the rear part of the engine compartment and the dash panel have been reinforced, resulting in more responsive handling and a greater grip for the driver.

At the same time, more precise production methods (such as the addition of more accurate acceleration sensors) have been utilised to improve the inter-vehicle detection capability.

Interior Atmosphere:

Inside, the 2012 Nissan GT-R's interior has been enhanced with the introduction of a new blue lighting system inside the tachometer ring to match the shift position indicator. A Rear View Camera device is now offered as standard on all models.  New Bose Precision Sound System woofers (as seen on the EGOIST model) also replace the existing Bose Sound System for enhanced audio quality.

Power & Performance:

Under the bonnet, the GT-R’s efficiency has been significantly improved with fuel economy now at 24mpg (from 23.5mpg) and power up to 550PS (+20PS) with maximum torque of 632Nm.

Engine response and torque at mid and low speeds, and power at high revolutions has also been significantly enhanced thanks to subtle improvements to the air flow resistance, exhaust emissions and exhaust valve cooling performance.

Nissan has strengthened the design of the gear shift fork arm and fixing bearing, resulting in a quieter, more refined transmission changes.

A special differential oil, R35 COMPETITION Type 2189E (75Q140), which was originally developed for competition, will also now be used in every version of the GT-R.

Track Focused Version:

Nissan has announced that an all-new track focused version (with right hand drive) is currently being developed for the UK and Japanese market.

The new track GT-R model is designed to offer customers a more track biased driving experience at a competitive price.  Further details of this model including price are still to be announced.

The new Nissan GT-R goes on sale in the UK in early December with deliveries expected early 2012.

Car Leasing vs Buying

Car Leasing Video DemoThere are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
