Porsche lovers and admirers everywhere will recognise that even though the company has been around since 1963, it has grown old gracefully, getting better and better every year.
Porsche 911 is one sports car that remains true to its values, providing pure driving enjoyment for all owners.
The Boxster and Cayman provide similar driving enjoyment and better value to drivers whilst the Panamera saloon and Cayenne 4x4 have launched Porsche into new, more practical markets.
The ever changing world of Porsche only makes the brand more and more appealing, to people of all ages and interests.
Luckily, the latest, seventh generation 911 is still as popular and relevant in Porsche’s new world. In fact, of the 700,000 911s sold since 1963, more than 80 per cent of them are still on the road.
One of the main reasons Porsche is so successful is because of the loyalty factor from its customers- more than three quarters of 911 sales are to repeat buyers.
The new Porsche 911 has therefore got a lot to live up to. With the traditional shape, but a broader stance, it is wider and lower than the previous model. As before, it comes in both standard and S forms.
The former gets a new 350bhp 3.4 litre engine and the S has a 3.8 litre engine with 400bhp, making both models even faster than previous 911s. The S model will get from 0 to 60mph in just 4.1 seconds and up to a top speed of 188mph.
Impressively, the 911 can return an average 34.4mpg with emissions of just 194g/km. It is the first Porsche to come in at less than 200g/km.
Over 48 years and seven generations, there are bound to be aspects of the newer model that doesn’t please everyone, but all in all the Porsche 911 is looking better than ever. The new 911 is expected in Europe late this year, early next year.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
