Superb gets Common Rail Diesel technology

Skoda has introduced a brand-new 2.0 TDI 140bhp diesel engine with Common Rail technology to its award-winning Superb range.

The new engine, when combined with the latest Common Rail diesel technology, is more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly than the 2.0 TDI PD 140bhp it replaces.

Skoda say the new engine boasts a combined fuel consumption 52.3mpg – an improvement of 4.4mpg on the existing powertrain – and CO2 emissions of just 143g/km. The new addition also meets the latest EU5 emissions regulations.

A single, high-pressure fuel rail and a lower compression ratio has also been added to the new Superb model for a smoother, more refined drive.

The new 2.0 TDI CR 140bhp DPF engine is available from 18th February with a choice of six-speed manual or twin-clutch DSG transmissions, in hatchback or estate bodystyles and in S, SE or Elegance trim.

The new engine option joins the existing 1.9 TDI PD 105bhp and 2.0 TDI CR 170bhp DPF diesel engines in the Superb range.

The new Skoda Superb range starts from £18,205.

Car Leasing vs Buying

Car Leasing Video DemoThere are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
