Vauxhall has released the first photos of the new 2011 Vauxhall Meriva interior ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
So what’s new? Well, taking styling tips from the stylish and swanky Vauxhall Insignia and Astra, the dash of the new Meriva has been moved forward to create more space and its new wraparound 'wing' section gives the vehicle a more elegant look.
The new Meriva boasts an airier feel thanks to bigger quarterlights, panoramic sunroof and 'wave' windowline. The chunky A-pillars from the previous Meriva have also been slimmed down to increase driver visibility and overall safety.
The new Meriva also features Vauxhall’s new FlexRail which sits between the front seats and runs the length of the cabin, creating a new optional storage system to stow phones, handbags and iPods. Depending on the spec of the car you go for, the new FlexRail can accommodate additional cupholders, USB and AUX in jacks – even an armrest can all be slotted in there. To facilitate this, the gearshift has been moved up to the dash and the handbrake is now electric.
The Meriva’s foldaway rear seats - dubbed FlexSpace - has two outer rear seats that slide back and forth individually, and once the centre seat is collapsed they moved inwards to create more shoulder room.
Luggage space stands at 400 litres with the seats up, 920 litres with them folded away (or 1500 litres to the roofline). The driver gets his own mini glovebox and a full suite of cubbies and drawers designed to accommodate all the clutter of family life.
The new Vauxhall Meriva will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
