The new Audi A3 2.0 TDI is the focus of the attention this tie picking up a prestigious award for Green Car of the Year 2010.
Presented by America’s Green Car Journal in its fifth year of existence the award highlights the positive work made by Audi in reducing emissions and improving efficiency. Previous winners of the award include: the VW Jetta TDI, the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Mercury Mariner Hybrid.
Green Car Journal Editor Ron Cogan comments on the winning performance,
"the Audi A3 TDI really defines what a 'green' car should be," adding
"its clean diesel engine is quiet, responsive, and achieves its mission without the need for exotic technologies. Plus, it's sporty and just plain fun to drive."
The A3 is powered by a 2.0-litre 'clean diesel' TDI engine capable of over 50mpg but developing 138bhp and 236lb.ft of torque. It saw off competition this year from the Honda Insight, Toyota Prius and VW Golf TDI.
Johan de Nysschen, President of Audi America, said:

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
