Honda to reveal 3R-C concept at Geneva

Honda has announced they will reveal their revolutionary one-person battery electric vehicle concept – name the 3R-C – at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

The uniquely designed vehicle will be displayed for the first time in Europe and will make its world debut alongside the EV-N concept.

3R-C Concept:
The revolutionary three-wheeled 3R-C concept demonstrates what a future minimal urban transport vehicle for one person might look like. It is powered by a battery electric drivetrain which is mounted low in the three wheeled chassis, keeping the centre of gravity low and improving stability.

The innovative model boasts a clear canopy that covers the driver’s seat while it is parked and not in use. When the vehicle is in motion, the canopy becomes an enveloping wind-shield that provides the driver, who sits low in the vehicle, with significant protection from the bodywork and doors.

The high sides of the safety shell give greater safety to the occupant, reducing the threat from side impacts and improving weather protection. In front of the driver is a lockable boot area, which gives significant secure storage for luggage or other items. The 3R-C’s designers also created a flexible cover that surrounds the upper torso to reduce exposure to bad weather and improving comfort.

EV-N Concept:
Previously shown at the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda’s EV-N concept will also make its European debut in Geneva alongside the 3R-C model. The EV-N is a demonstration of the potential application of battery technology in a small, stylish city car.

Featuring Honda’s own solar panels in the roof, which charge the car while it is parked, the EV-N also boasts two of Honda’s U3-X, electric personal mobility devices which are attached to the inside of each door and a Lithium ion battery pack and small electric motor for predominantly urban use.

Both vehicles will be on display at the Geneva International Motor Show on 2nd March.

Car Leasing vs Buying

Car Leasing Video DemoThere are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
