The Green Car Awards 2010 have revealed the best and the worst cars for fuel efficiency.
Andrew Davis, director at the Environmental Transport Association said: "With the price of petrol at record levels and greater understanding about the threat to the environment there has never been a more important time to make fuel efficiency a deciding factor when choosing a car."
And it's good news for Toyota! Their IQ model was awarded the coveted Green Car Of The Year 2010 award. This must come as sweet relief indeed after the recent spate of safety concerns.
Conversely, the Lamborghini Murcielago has been shamed as the least fuel-efficient car. Over the course of a year, the Lamborghini Murcielago emits an amount of CO2 equivalent to felling a football pitch-sized forest of trees. This is an emission of exactly five times more CO2 per kilometre than the 99g/km Toyota IQ.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
