Nissan launched the Nissan Murano in 2002 with the first production vehicles hitting the dealer showrooms in 2003. Nissan aimed to break traditional 4x4 convention by combining the functionality of a Sport Utility Vehicle or SUV with a purposeful and poised styling. Nissan’s designers were inspired by both sports coupes and 4x4s and the new Murano uniquely combines the design flair of a coupe, the space and refinement of a luxury saloon, the power and responsiveness of a sports car and the all conditions practicality of an SUV.
Both inside and out Nissan ensured there were no compromise on quality with the Murano. Only a high performance3.5 V6 petrol engine delivering 234 bhp is available match to Nissan’s CVT automatic transmission. Every Nissan Murano comes equipped with a full set of airbags including driver, passenger and curtain airbags to ensure the highest level of protection to passengers. Electronic Stability Program Plus or ESP+ is linked to an active brake Limited Slip Differential or LSD to manage engine power and brake pressure which maximises traction and control at all times.
Only a single trim model is available however Nissan have ensured the Murano comes fully loaded, with leather seats, dvd satellite navigation and 6 cd changer just a few of the items fitted as standard.
