The third generation Nissan Pathfinder went on sale in 2005 although previous generations were called Terrano in the UK and other European countries. The Pathfinder is a rugged sports utility vehicle or SUV as large four wheel drive vehicle are commonly called. The populaity of SUV's has increased significantly in recent year with many manufacturer's now building one. Engine power is provided by either 2.5 litre diesel or 4.0 litre V6 petrol. The diesel is one of the most fuel efficient cars in its class in either manual or automatic transmission and with 403Nm of torque it will haul 3000kg of trailer, boat or other cargo.
