The Peugoet 107 is an ultra-compact four-seat car produced since 2004. It was a joint project with Citroen and Toyota, and is a sister car to the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo. The 107 replaces the Peugeot 106 and is available as a three- or five- door hatchback. It forms part of Peugeot’s ‘Blue Lion’ range, meaning it is environmentally friendly, with CO2 emissions below 120g/km, low running costs and is made with parts that are 95% recyclable. This agile little city car is nippy and stable, and features plenty of room for rear passengers. Alternatives include the Kia Picanto, Hyundai i10 Hatchback, and Suzuki Splash.
One engine is available, a 3 cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine, which achieves an impressive 61.4 miles per gallon. The small engine also means the car lies in Insurance Group 1, making it even more economic. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a semi-automatic transmission named 2-Tronic is available on some models.
Trim levels start at Urban Lite and Kiss, only available on the 3-door hatch, and progress to Urban, Move and Sport. The entry level Urban Lite trim has basic standard features, such as CD audio with MP3 socket, electric power steering and immobiliser. Standard safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, ABS, EBFD and CSC (cornering stability control). A ‘Kiss’ trim, released in partnership with Kiss FM, includes special graphics on the sides and an uprated Clarion stereo. The Urban trim level is available on both the 3- and 5-door hatch. This trim adds 50/50 split folding rear seats for more boot space, body-coloured exterior handles and mirrors, remote central locking, electric front windows, and optional rev counter, air-conditioning and side curtain airbags. The 107 Urban is the only model available with 2-Tronic semi-automatic transmission. The Urban Move trim adds alloy wheels, and air-conditioning and rev-counter as standard. The Sport trim, only on the 3-door editions, features body stripes, sports exhaust and spoiler.
