The 207 was launched in 2006, it continues Peugeot's range of competitive super minis that started with the 205 in 1982. The 207 has a spacious, well designed interior with a multitude of storage solutions as well as convenient fold flat split rear seats. Peugeot has put a lot of effort in to the new 207 to ensure that it great fun to drive, with sharp steering and good body control. The 207 has new hi-tech features such as tyre pressure gauges and automatic windscreen wipers on selected models. It is also one of the safest in its class, achieving a five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. The 207 is available with either 3 or 5-doors and its main rivals are the Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta.
Both the three and five door versions are available with the same 1.4 litre 8v and 1.4 litre VTi petrol engines. The three door is also available with the turbocharged 1.6 litre THP petrol engine with 175 BHP. While the five door is available with the 1.6 litre VTi petrol engine with 120 BHP. Both models are available with the same fuel efficient turbo diesel units; the 1.6 Hdi 90 and 1.6 Hdi 110. Both engines are capable of over 60MPG and the Hdi 90 will cost just £35 per year in road tax. All models are fitted with a five-speed manual transmission.
The model range starts with the Urban model, which features remote central locking, electric front windows and CD player. Next is the S model, adding features such as electrically adjustable door mirrors. Iit is available with or without air conditioning. The Verve model has air conditioning as standard and adds Bluetooth handsfree kit and front fog lights. The Sport features a sporty 'alu' grille, chrome exhaust tip, alloy wheels and leather trimmed steering wheel. The feature packed GT model includes dual zone digital climate control, panoramic glass roof, auto sensing wipers, electrochrome dimming rear mirror and more. The five door model is also available with the SE Premium trim level, whilst the 3 door model is available as the Gti. The GTi model has sporty features like twin front spoilers, sill extensions, rear spoiler and twin chrome-trimmed sports exhaust.
