Porsche are one of the worlds most well known sports car manufacturer and are renowned for their engineering excellence, impeccable build quality and proven race record. The company was started in 1931 and developed motor cars, helping to conceive the Volkswagen Beetle design. They started production on their first car, the 356 in 1948 and it proved an instant success. Their most famous vehicle is undoubtedly the 911 with its iconic body shape and rear engined layout, it remains one of their most popular models. The latest model was released in 2006 and its subtle restyling has proved exceptionally popular. The 911 Cabriolet shares the iconic status of the 911 but with an electronically operated soft-top folding roof.
Porsche's entry level model, the Boxster continues to offer exceptional performance and advanced engineering in a compact package with convertible appeal. The Boxster range has been around since 1996 and continues a strong tradition of roadsters that has run throughout the company's existence. The Boxster was given a complete redesign in 2005.
Porsche entered the 4x4 market with their Cayenne model in 2002, being a Porsche it offers near unbeatable performance on the road in its class and with its four-wheel drive and electronic systems, can off-road with the best of them too.
The new Cayman is Porsche's most recent model, it shares element of the iconic 911 design, but features a mid-engined layout for a near-perfectly balanced vehicle. The Cayman has another feature over the classic 911, a boot – with the engine moved forwards there is now space at the rear for a small amount of luggage through the hatchback design.
