The acclaimed Clio was first launched in 1991 and the latest third generation model was released in 2005 winning the European Car of the Year award for 2006. The new Clio shares its platform with the popular and reliable Nissan Micra, but features a longer wheelbase which makes its one of the class leaders for interior space. The new model also receives new technologies from the luxury Laguna model, including a much higher quality upmarket interior with improved ride quality and refinement. There are also features available such as tyre-pressure monitoring, cornering headlights and hands free entry with the ignition key card. The main rivals are the Peugeot 207, Mazda 2 and Ford Fiesta.
Petrol engine options for the Clio 5 door start with the 1.2 16v, then the turbocharged 1.2 TCE with 100PS, the 1.6 VVT and sporty 2.0 VVT with 138PS. Diesel versions use Renault's proven fuel efficient common rail engines. The range uses a 1.5 litre dCi with three power output options depending on the model chosen starting with the dCi 68 and dCi 86 – both capable of well over 60MPG and with such low emissions output that they will cost just £35 per year to tax. Most powerful is the 1.5 dCi 106 available on the Dynamique S and Intiale. Transmission options available include the five or six-speed manual or the four-speed automatic.
Trim levels start with the base level Expression model, followed by the sporty Dynamique range which has 16 inch alloys. The Dynamique S adds a sports steering wheel and Renault's hands free key card. All models are available with optional air conditioning. Top of the range is the luxurious Initiale model, which features full leather upholstery, automatic climate control, cruise control and rear parking sensor.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
