The new Clio Estate is based on the award winning third generation Clio hatchback model and was launched in 2008. The estate model mimics styling found on other Renault Sport Wagon models such as the Laguna estate, while still remaining a small car with desirable looks. It carries over the standard Clio's spacious cabin and quality interior but with a longer body and much larger estate boot. It versatility is added to with fold flat rear seats for extended boot space and by the addition of roof bars for extra storage. The Clio Estate's main rivals are the Skoda Fabia, Peugeot 207 SW and Honda Jazz.
Petrol engine options for the Clio Estate start with the 1.2 litre 16v and 1.2 litre Turbo with 100 PS. Both are capable of almost 50 MPG. There is also a 1.6 litre VVT petrol option available. Diesel engine options both use the 1.5 litre dCi engine with common rail technology. There are two models available, with either 86 or 106 PS, both offer excellent economy and are capable of over 60 MPG. The dCi 86 engine generates very low CO2 emissions which means it falls into one of the lowest car tax bands and will cost just £35 per year to tax. There are only two options for transmissions, the four-speed automatic or five-speed manual.
Trim levels start with the Expression and includes electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, cruise control with speed limiter as standard as well as being available with air conditioning. The top of the range Dynamique model includes air conditioning as standard, as well as auto headlamps and auto windscreen wipers, leather steering wheel and gear knob and much more.
