The Koleos model was launched in 2008 and is Renault's first full attempt at a 4x4 vehicle. Utilising technology from partner Nissan, the Koleos is more capable than many of its rivals. It uses Nissan X-Trail 4x4 systems with hill start assist and hill descent control. The Koleos offers an refined, comfortable ride which is sure to make it a rival of competitors such as the Ford Kuga, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV-4. The Koleos is extremely versatile, it has a split rear hatch, roof rails, 60/40 split rear seat with ski hole and numerous other clever storage solutions around the cabin. There are an array of safety features fitted; including a total of six air bags with adaptive front airbags, Isofix child seat fittings and anti-lock brakes. These combine for a maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating.
The Koleos is available a 2.0 litre dCi engine, a modern common rail turbo diesel engine, it is available with either 150 or 175 PS. Transmission options available include a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
Trim levels start with the Dynamique model which includes air conditioning and a CD player. The Dynamique S model adds ESP and 4x4i as well as front and rear parking sensors and climate control. The top of the range Privilege model includes leather upholstery, BOSE sound system, satellite navigation and more.
