The Megane range debuted in 1995, showcasing Renault's focus on safety. It was one of the safest in its class when launched. The Cabriolet model continues a line of mid-size convertible models for Renault that has been going since the late 80's with the Renault 19 and then the MK1 Megane. The second generation Megane Cabriolet was launched in 2002 and was refreshed in 2006 with restyled bumpers and lights as well as improved interior and features. This latest Megane features a metal folding roof with a glass centre section that you normally only find on more prestigious vehicles. It is electrically operated and can be raised or lowered in just 22 seconds, it folds seamlessly under the boot lid for a stylish smooth appearance. It is fitted with four air bags as standard, but is available with up to ten; its other safety features include a strong occupant safety cell, electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes. These combine for a maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating. Its main rivals are the Volkswagen Eos, Vauxhall Astra TwinTop and Peugeot 307 Coupe Cabriolet.
The Megane Coupe Cabriolet's sporty engine line-up starts with the petrol powered 1.6 litre VVT with 111PS, then the 2.0 VVT 136 and powerful 2.0 Turbo 165. Diesel versions use Renault's modern, efficient common rail units and start with the 1.5 litre dCi 106 capable of over 55 MPG. There is also the 1.9 dCi 130 and 2.0 dCi 150. Transmission options include the four-speed automatic and five or six-speed manual.
Trim levels start with the base level Extreme model which includes air conditioning, auto headlamps and wipers, the Dynamique adds climate control, cruise control with speed limiter, ESP with ASR traction control. The Dynamique S features 17 inch alloy wheels, chromed roof arches and dark carbon leather upholstery. Top of the range is the Privilege model with full beige leather upholstery, electrically folding mirrors and more.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
