Renault is one of the oldest car manufacturer's in the world and made their first car in 1898. The Renault corporation was formed in 1899, the year when they started production on the Renault Voiturette. From early on Renault have used motorsport to promote their cars and won the first ever Grand Prix in 1906. They continue their association with motor racing to this day, having won the F1 Grand Prix Championship in 2005 and 2006 and continue to compete. They are now renowned for their often class leading safety features. The Nissan-Renault alliance was formed in 1999, with the sharing of technology helping to improve manufacturing processes and quality and dispel their image of unreliability.

Renault currently offers a large range of passenger vehicles. Their range of small cars starts with the new Renault Twingo, the third generation Clio in 3 & 5 door as well as the new Clio Sport Tourner estate and budget Clio Campus. The mid-range model is the Megane and is offered in a wide range of body styles. There is the Megane 3-door Sport Hatch, the 4-door saloon model, the Megane Sport Tourer estate and Megane Coupe-Cabriolet with electrically operated metal folding roof. New for 2008 is the desirable five-door Megane Hatchback.
Renault's also offer the Laguna and Laguna Sport Tourer Estate, they fill the luxury family car market and are often used to showcase Renault's ground breaking technology.
Most experienced of all MPV makers, Renault launched the first MPV in the 1980's. Proving to be a huge success, Renault have continued to expand and upgrade their MPV range ever since. Now their offer a large range of people carriers of all sizes; starting with the Modus, Grand Modus, Scenic and Grand Scenic. There is also the long established Espace and seven-seat Grand Espace. One of the latest models to be released is the new Koleos, it uses Nissan 4x4 technology and is the Renaults first SUV vehicle with true off-road capabilities.
