The Fabia Estate was first launched in 1999, the brand new model was released at the same time as the hatchback model in 2007. It's major changes over the hatchback are the improved practicality due to the lengthened body and estate boot. It is one of the most spacious cars in its class and offers the best head and legroom as well as a class leading level of boot space with a maximum load space of 1460 litres. It rivals cars like the Peugeot 207SW, Honda Jazz and Renault Modus.
Petrol engines start with the three-cylinder 12v 1.2 litre HTP with 70 BHP, then there is the four-cylinder 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v with 85 and 105 BHP respectively. Volkswagen lends its effcient and acclaimed diesels to the Fabia, starting with the three-cylinder 1.4 TDI PD with either 70 or 80 BHP and the four-cylinder 1.9 TDI PD. Transmission is available as either five-speed manual or semi-automatic Tiptronic.
Trim levels start with the base level 1, then the 2 and top level 3 with 16 inch alloy wheels, climatronic air-conditioning, cruise control and CD player.
