The iconic Impreza was first launched in 1993, since then there has been a relaunched version in 2001. The latest version was released in 2007 and has redefined the Impreza, now the car is a hatchback model instead of the more traditional saloon. With the Impreza, Subaru has won 6 World Rally Championship's giving the Impreza worldwide appeal and a sporty image.
The Impreza features AWD on all models, improving grip and roadholding compared with competitors like the Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Volkswagen Golf. With is trademark four-cylinder boxer engine providing the power, the Impreza is notable for its lower centre of gravity and distinctive sound.
Engine options start with the 1.5 petrol, then there is the 2.0 litre and powerful 2.5 litre with 255 PS on the WRXS model meaning the Impreza can power its way from 0 to 62 in just 5.9 seconds. Transmission options available include the four-speed Automatic with Sportshift, the five-speed dual range manual and five speed manual.
The Impreza is available in several different models, the base level R comes with alloy wheels and CD/MP3 player, the RX adds six-disc CD player and Cruise control. The World Rally influenced WRX and WRX Sti models offer up to 18 inch alloy wheels, electronic folding door mirrors, underfloor diffuser for extra down force and road holding along with a multitude of other functions.
