The RAV4 was first launched in 1994 and has been a popular model ever since. An all new model was released in 2001 and the stylish third generation model was launched in 2006. The RAV4 is a small 4x4 and competes with rivals such as the BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and Landrover Freelander. The RAV4 is available with a 2.0 litre petrol engine or with a 2.2 litre D-4D turbo diesel engine with 140 or 180 PS. Trim levels start with the XT3, the XT-R, XT4, SR180 and top spec XT5 with dual-zone climate control, satellite navigation, cruise control and rain sensing wipers
