The much improved Toyota Verso was released in 2004 and falls into the small people carrier market. With seven seats, the Verso competes with other MPV's like the Renault Grand Scenic, Vauxhall Zafira and Mazda 5. The Toyota Verso is the first European car to be fitted with Corner Assist Monitoring on select models. Corner Assist Monitoring consists of a discreet front mounted camera which displays images on the internal multi-function display to help drivers when pulling out from tricky junctions. The Verso is fitted with Toyota's Easy Flat-7 seating system which allow the rear two rows of seats to individually fold completely flat to the floor at a touch of a button.
Engine options start with the 1.6 and 1.8 litre VVT-i petrol variants. There are two options for diesel, both 2.2 litre; the D-4D 140 and more powerful D-4D 180. Transmission options are the manual and Multimode with F1-Style paddle shifting.
Trim levels start with the base level T2, then the SR, T Spirit and range topping sporty T180 with 17 inch alloy wheels, privacy glass and headrest mounted in car entertainment as standard.
