The perky Yaris was first launched by Toyota in 1999, becoming an instant sensation and making rivals have to re-think their super mini offerings. It won the European Car of the Year in 2000. The latest model was launched in 2006 and is slightly larger than the outgoing model. It has a 'cabforward' concept which offers a spacious interior with more legroom thanks to it's more upright design. The Yaris also features Toyota's EasyFlat system where the 60/40 split rear seats fold down perfectly flat with the minimum of effort. There is plentiful storage in the cabin with over 18 litres of storage space in the dashboard alone including cup holders and document storage behind the steering wheel. The Yaris is available with three or five doors and competes with rivals such as the Vauxhall Corsa, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia. It is also one of the safest in it's class, it achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP crash testing rating with its Vehicle Stability Control, ABS, whiplash reducing seats and up to nine airbags.
Engine options start with the three-cylinder 1.0 litre VVT-i petrol, then there is the four-cylinder 1.3 VVT-i and 1.8 litre Dual VVT-i taking just 9.3 seconds to 60 and still achieving an impressive 39 MPG. There is also a turbo diesel engine option, the 1.4 litre D-4D which can achieve over 60 MPG meaning you can travel over 570 miles before needing to fill up. Transmission is available as manual or Multimode with F1-style paddle shifting which can make driving safer by the driver not needed to remove hands from the wheel while shifting.
Trim levels start with the base level T2, then the TR, T3, T Spirit and sport SR which includes 16 inch alloy wheels, rear roof spoiler and satellite navigation.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
