The Antara is Vauxhall's entry into the compact 4x4 market and was released in 2007, finally filling the gap left by the Frontera. It rivals include the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail. The Antara is practical and well spec'd, offering features such as CD/MP3 player, Multi-Function display, and self levelling rear suspension. Safety features include Electronic Brake Distribution, ESP, ABS and an array of airbags.
A notable feature is optional revolutionary Flex-Fix rear carrier system which is integrated into the rear bumper and invisible from outside when not in use. The system incorporates an integrated carrier for two bikes, so you don't need a separate roof or rear carrier, its low height makes loading bikes an easy operation.
The Antara is available with either a 2.0 litre CDTi turbo diesel engine or a 2.4i petrol. There is an automatic and manual gearbox available on selected models. Trim levels start at the surprisingly well equipped E, moving up to the S and SE model.
