The Insignia is Vauxhall's newest car and was released in 2008 to eventually phase out the Vectra. Its potential is already being noticed and has been awarded European Car of the Year for 2009 and Top Gear magazine's executive car of the year. The Insignia currently comes as a sleek five-door hatchback and aims to compete with the Ford Mondeo, Citreon C5 Saloon and Volkswagen Passat. The Insignia will also be available as a four door saloon and sports tourer in the near future. It is currently the safest in its class, achieving a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating due to features such as its comprehensive airbag system with multistage front and side airbags as well as Isofix child seat fittings, ABS, ESP and adaptive braking lights.
One of the most innovative features of the new Insignia is the optional Front Camera System which will read the speed limit signs and display a reminder on the fascia, helping the driver to keep safe and legal. Leave your lane without a signal, and it can also emit an audible warning.
The Insignia has three petrol engines on offer, a 1.8i with variable valve timing, a 2.0 turbo direct injection petrol engine producing 220 PS and the top of the range 2.8i V6 turbo. There are currently two diesel engine options utilising Vauxhall's new common rail turbo diesel engine, both are 2 litre, the first develops 130PS and the more powerful one achieving 160PS. There is a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic available depending on the choice of engine. All-Wheel Drive is also available on selected models providing excellent grip in the most tricky of conditions.
Trim levels range from the base level S, to the Exclusiv, SE, Elite and sporty SRi with 18 inch alloy wheels and sports interior with aluminium pedals, leather sports steering wheel and sports seats. There is also Vauxhall's Flexride adaptive stability technology available on certain models.

There are many practical reasons to leasing a car rather than buying one. Car leasing offers lower monthly payments, lower initial deposit, road tax and breakdown recovery. You also have the opportunity to drive a new car every two or three years and all vehicles include the standard manufacturer’s warranty.
Our leasing deals are powered by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.
