The Meriva is a mini MPV based on the popular Corsa platform. It was released in 2002 to compete with the likes of the Citroen Picasso, Nissan Note and Fiat Idea. It has a clever, flexible interior using its “FlexSpace” technology that allows the middle row to be moved around in a variety of ways including fully flat for a huge load capacity. Vauxhall also offer a VXR version with a turbocharged 1.6 litre engine with 180 PS, muscular looks, sports suspension and 17 inch alloy wheels.
Other petrol engine options include the 1.4i, 1.6i and 1.8i. Diesel engine options are the 1.3 and 1.7CDTi common rail engines. Transmission options are the Easytronic sequential five-speed and the manual gearbox comes as either a five or six-speed. Trim levels start with the Breeze, then the Club, Expression, Life, Design and also the aforementioned VXR.
