Best-selling MPV the Zafira was first launched in1999, the new MK2 model was released in 2005. The Vauxhall has several features by which it sets itself apart from its rivals; the Ford S-Max, Renault Grand Scenic and Mazda 5. The first is it's revolutionary Flex7 seating system that set new standards by allowing the third row of seats to fold flat into the floor converting the car between a five and seven seater. Another notable feature introduced with the MK2 is the Panoramic Roof Pack option which features four glass panels with electric sunshades above the front two seat rows as well as a generous amount of overhead storage in the five compartments. The Zafira achieved a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating with its array of safety features including advanced EPS, ABS and multiple airbags.
Engine options start with the petrol 1.6i, then the 1.8i, 2.0 litre turbo and the 2.2 litre 16 valve naturally aspirated direct injection. There is also a diesel engine in the form of the 1.9CDTi with common rail diesel technology which comes with either 120 or 150 PS. There is a range of transmission options available on selected models, there is the manual in five or six-speed, the Easytronic five-speed sequential and then the Automatic in either four or six-speed.
Trim levels start with the base level Expression, then the Life with optional air conditioning, then the Exclusiv, the Breeze and Breeze Plus, the Design top spec Elite and sporty SRi. There is also the even sportier VXR turbo edition with 240 PS and a 0-60 time of just 7.2 seconds. It also comes fitted with 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels, VXR bodykit and sports interior.
