The new VW Eos is a new model for Volkswagen introduced in 2006. It features a powered five-piece folding roof, changing the car from a hardtop coupe to a stylish convertible in just 25 seconds. Uniquely this car features a sliding glass sunroof which is separate from the folding roof and can be independently adjusted. Competition in the small coupe-convertible market is tough, with many competitors such as the Ford Focus CC, Vauxhall Astra TwinTop, Renault Megane CC and Peugeot 307CC.
There are several engine options available, petrol variants include the 1.4Tsi, the 2.0Tsi and top of the range 3.2 V6 FSI. The diesel option is the 2.0 TDI capable of nearly 50 MPG. The Eos is available with two gearbox options, a six-speed manual and the acclaimed six-speed DSG gearbox on selected models.
Trim levels vary from the base level S, to the SE and Sport model with sports suspension and 18 inch alloys.
