The Volkswagen Polo 3-door is a supermini car first manufactured by Volkswagen in 1975. The Polo competes well in the market despite strong competition from rivals such as the Citroen C2, Renault Clio and the Nissan Micra. In March 2009, Volkswagen launched the fifth generation Polo at the Geneva Motor Show and the latest model follows styling cues from the popular Volkswagen Golf.
With its dynamic design and luxurious interior, the new Polo stands out from the crowd. The stylish new model sports the distinctive Volkswagen ‘family face’ and the thin, horizontal grille and sleek, swept-back headlights give the car a low and wide presence. Inside, the Polo 3-door is packed with state-of-the-art technology such as the near-perfect acoustics CD autochanger or the latest touch-screen satellite navigation system. The Polo also boasts thorax airbags and has been awarded a five-star EuroNCAP crash impact rating.
The new Polo features a choice of five petrol and two diesel engines. The 1.6 litre TDI diesel engine features Volkswagen’s latest common rail technology and returns an extremely economical 65.7 mpg on a combined cycle and emits just 112g/km of CO2. Volkswagen’s TSI technology offers award-winning engines that combine power and economy.
Trim levels include the S, S A/C, Moda, SE, Moda A/C and SEL. The Moda trim includes body-coloured mirrors and door handles, 15" 'Cadiz' Alloy wheels and Matt Chrome interior styling.
