The Touran is Volkswagen's mid-size MPV, slotting neatly between the Sharan and Golf Plus. The Touran was launched in 2003 and received a refreshed look in 2007 to bring it in line with other VW styling. Rivalling cars such as the Renault Grand Scenic, Vauxhall Zafira and Mazda 5. The Touran sets itself apart with trademark VW build quality. The Touran is a seven seater and has more than 500 seating variations along with 39 storage compartments and roof bars, making it a highly adaptable load carrier. Optional features include Park assist that can help the driver park in tight spaces hands free. The Touran achieved a 4-Star Euro NCAP crash test rating.
Engine options are the petrol 1.6 and turbo 1.4 TSI. Turbo diesel engine options start with the 1.9 TDI 90PS and 105PS as well as the 2.0 TDI 140 PS and 170PS from the diesel sport version. There is also a fuel efficient and low emission engine option, the Bluemotion 1.9 TDI DPF. Transmission options are the five and six-speed manual as well as the DSG automatic gearbox.
Trim levels start with the S, SE and Sport as well as the Bluemotion S and SE.
